Area Overview

Why Go?

Affordable, great snow, close to Denver, the Ridge and RidgeCat, the vibe, no lift lines, free parking.

Description of Skiing:

High-alpine, no-frills, good snow, The Ridge, the free Ridge Cat, endless hike-to terrain, not many moguls, great spring and end of season terrain offerings. And importantly, there are no lift lines. I find it best to start at Chet's high speed lift and then progress from south to north through chairs 6, Ptarmagin, 4 and 8 and then returning to Chair 9 and the Ridge. Near the end of the day go back to Chet's and ski the steep black runs of Over The Rainbow, Zoom, and Avalanche Bowl. Then on your last lap either head right to the Rathskeller, or ski to your car, or both. Wednesday through Sunday beginning in January you can ski the Ridge Cat for free. There are so many runs from the summit so just walk a little to find the zone/line of your choosing.
